biglaang lakad: The Chocolate Kiss Cafe

masaya pag nakatira ka sa may Katipunan Avenue. madaming pwedeng kainan… merong fastfood, merong mga ‘better than fastfood’ restaurants na di naman kamahalan. mga “OK lang” na kainan. wala pa naman yatang uber sosyal place dito bukod sa Cravings. i’ve only set food in the store once pero just to buy a cake for an officemate’s birthday pero yun lang. di pa ako kumakain dun!

still, kahit na may ganito sa Katipunan, dinadayo pa din namin ang Chocolate Kiss sa Bahay ng Alumni sa UP. ewan ko ba…

after our jogging session one afternoon, syempre ginutom kami. at dahil mahinang tao lang kami and could easily give in to temptation, inisip namin saan pwedeng kumain. and dahil nga nagsawa na kami sa mga kokok (read: manok) ng McDo, Jollibee, at Kenny Roger’s, naisipan namin pumunta sa ChocKiss this time kasi matagal-tagal na din kaming hindi napapadpad doon.

the place is still the same — nice cozy ambiance inside though medyo low yung ceiling. plastic monobloc chairs with cushions are curious but do the job in keeping you supported and comfortable while eating. artwork around the place were really cute din. wish i took pictures nga eh! hehe…

but i’m not complaining. ganun lang talaga dun and it was pretty comfy and cozy. we went there for the food! 🙂 car had the Chicken Kiev with rice, julie had Red Pesto, and i had their Hungarian Sausage + Penne. I was hoping to get fish n’ chips (all time favorite! haha!) pero kaka-Fish n’Chips ko lang that weekend. the chick n’chips was an option pero feeling ko di ako mabubusog sa puro patatas lang. so i opted for some meat and pasta na lang kaysa rice.

thinking about the meal while writing makes my mouth water! grabe… haha! it only means i really enjoyed the taste. not very herb-y pero masarap yung tomato sa pasta tapos may ‘kagat’ yung sausage. so no regrets there!

my mistake was nag-softdrinks ako. i forgot that they served their iced tea unsweetened so they give you this little pitcher of honey to sweeten it to your liking! the iced tea itself tastes like the regular C2 Green Tea green variant. gusto ko nga subukan ‘to sa amin pero the green C2 is rare (hindi kasi mabenta kasi hindi matamis) in stores and supermarkets tapos mahal din ang honey. sad. 😛 hahaha!

di bale, yung mga pasta recipes na lang nila i-try ko. *cross fingers* (pinahirapan pa lalo ang sarili? LOL)
