summer sunset

this is my only reward for waking up at 4 AM to make it to our 7AM calltime at Sofitel Philippine Plaza. taken during the last day of a 2-day conference co-organized by our office. it’s March, the sun is just beginning to heat up the summer days and often, we curse and complain and hope for the sun to hide behind clouds. but during a sunset, it captures you and captivates. it doesn’t irritate or annoy you like it normally would around 1 or 2 PM. it changes your mood to a more relaxed, laid-back nature.

and these times, you’re glad that clouds aren’t around and summer is here.

drama-rama sa huwebes ng hapon

dear bookmarked sites and online friends,

(lol) tapos suot niya was a gray shirt na may print ng red telephone booths na nakatumba parang dominos. i got the impression that it was part of an exhibition or installation art. bigla ko lang naisip si Superman.

spot the difference

during my afternoon bike around our place, i noticed a concrete marker on the side of a newly paved road. it was about a meter high and bears the provincial seal of Pampanga. the marker was written with black paint over a white background and was in kapampangan (i’ll translate it for you, don’t worry). and after seeing this, i had a big smile on my face but immediately left with a deep sigh of depression. before i explain, i’d like to show you how the marker looked like and what is written:

in red, “Province of Pampanga”. the text below, “concreting of barangay road E. Mercado St. Ext., San Vicente; Length (blank); Budget: P 466,185.99; this project for the people is made possible through the cooperation of the provincial government and the local government unit of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga.

THIS IS WHERE YOUR TAXES GO.”

what do you see? what do you NOT see?

i just had to capture this so the following week, during my afternoon bike around town again, i snapped this photo. i could not resist sharing this. it is my opinion that it would be a grave sin to society and to the voting public to not make this known.

okay. now, let’s take a look at specimen #2.

i don’t see any need for any translation whatsoever. of course, it’s all in English, right?

let’s play a game now. spot the difference…

i tell you, campaign period started way before politicians started filing their certificates of candidacy.

😀 hehehe

i’m so into MuseScore right now. it’s a music notation software where you can easily create sheet music for instruments, voices, or kung magaling katalaga, pang-orchestra!

i think i’ve mentioned before na during Lent, may sideline ako. i play the violin at our Church. eh part nun eh kailangan i-train ang mga kakanta nung song during the procession. it’s actually a unique practice, i think, sa amin. we may be celebrating the most festive Easter anywhere. after kasi ng Salubong eh may prusisyon na kakaiba. maybe i’ll discuss that some other time. and with pics! actually, may vids sa youtube but i won’t link them kasi i sound terrible! hehe…

so, i have to train these girls how to sing the song. pero lyrics sheet lang kasi binibigay. so i thought of translating it to sheet music para makita naman nila yung weight and duration ng mga kakantahin nilang syllables. and so, ayun, nakita ko nga yung MuseScore and i’ve been having too much fun with it. 😀 hehe…

Eduardo’s having fun, too. 😛
