my workplace in 3D!!!

well, not exactly. 😀

i found out about Photosynth by microsoft through Jayvee who announced the contest on teksilog.com the other day. i told myself i’d try it out but it required a MSN Live or Hotmail account. (wow, i had a hotmail account AGES ago! i used a pseudonym pa nga noong highschool. doon ko naman nakilala ang Honeylet. wow, flashback!!! and yes, Honeylet ang pangalan niya. that’s not a term of endearment. LOL. ibang araw na lang ang story namen. :D)

i had the patience to sign up for an account only recently and even more recent, the chance to take photos of my workplace in nice weather. i took a total of 28 photos of the building, taking shots at different angles and going from one side to the other, coming closer a few steps for each set.after that, i fired up Photosynth after downloading and installing it, processed the photos and voila! DONE! what i enjoyed most is the Point Cloud view. i think it takes the tie-points of the photos and recreates a somewhat 3-dimensional render of the photos you took.

pretty neat huh? and a nice addition is that you can geotag your photosynth. i did that on mine so maybe you’ll know where to find me if you need me. 😛 haha…

embedding doesn’t seem to work. 😦 you’ll just have to click here to see my photosynth. 🙂
