this is the only reason why i don’t go to sleep hungry even if i come home late from work:
it’s actually one of ’em 24-hour tapsilogans everywhere. but this one has “Vigan’s Best” as its specialties: Bagnet, Papaitan, Pakbet, Sinanglaw, and Longganisa.
i’m not sure if this is what they call “hole-in-the-wall” food joints but it’s really just a small place that can seat 4 to 5 customers at a time on their counters and puts 2 monobloc tables on the side of the road which makes dining here a death-defying feat some foreigners might not be used to. i know al fresco dining is done on the sidewalk, not on the road so i’m not sure how welcome this is. 😛
(took this picture while seated at the ‘buwis-buhay’ chair on the street. hehe)
i’ve only had bagnet, longsilog, and papaitan and for the price of Php 50-55, it’s worth it. of course, if you’re after a healthy heart, this isn’t the place for you as most dishes served are silogs and fried. but you’re one who can’t be bothered worrying about shortening their life, then get into an IKOT jeep in UP or a green tricycle in PHILCOA and head for Krus Na Ligas, Quezon City.
