valentine’s day was invented for women

it’s either the entrepreneur was a woman herself or he had female friends and saw a business opportunity while making her friends happy.

think about it. who benefits from celebrating V-day? women get flowers, chocolates, jewelry, presents, etc. (or they expect to be given one or all of them). businesses who sell these products profit bigtime because they get to ‘up’ the prices sky high!

men get nothing. except perhaps the lovey-dovey puss-in-boots eyes and words like “i love you too” or “thank you so much” or “you make me feel so special”… bonus points if you get a peck on the cheek or a smack. extra pogi points if you’re Phil Younghusbands and make panties drop just by saying “hi” to random women. 😛 haha…

why does V-day seem like a one-way thing? or is it just me? if men had control over V-day, women would be making hobby and tech stores happy. no need for a dinner date — a new DSLR or cellphone or iPod would do. that shiny RC (remote controlled) car/helicopter is fine, too. or a new Magic card. you’ll get our “thank you”s and “you’re so sweet” and “i love you too” replies as well. that’s a promise. 😀

  1. I’m not a huge fan of V day because I find it too commercialized. I love the atmosphere though because of the decorations.

haha.. at meron ding mga hindi single pero ayaw din nila ang V day for the same exact reason! aheh… kaya mas natutuwa ako pag halos magkasabay ang Chinese New Year at V day. 😀 hahaha
