well, i don’t know if it’s an influence of Sherlock or it was just too easy to see. i don’t know… but it almost made me cry. (defensive? haha!)

basta, watch and cry… it’s not a bad kind of cry… it’s the one that feels good.

i’ve been reading a couple of articles saying that the proceedings are “irrelevant” to the poor and others say that people are glued to their TV sets to watch it. one problem, though, is that aside from the legal jargon (sometimes in Latin, a.k.a. “gobbledygook”), the proceedings are in English. so what could a normal citizen do?

i say, stay glued to your TV sets. if you can’t, wait for the evening news. despite the urgent issue of SOPA and PIPA, i’m not sure how much we Filipinos could influence US legislature. stick to the impeachment trial and try to learn another thing or two… e.g. subpoena duces tecum vs. subpoena ad testificandum, relevance of SALN, what is betrayal of public trust, etc. i hope that TV networks and the news outfits could explain these, specially now that the big networks have their own news channels now.

nevertheless, here’s the link to the Senate Live Video Streaming of the Corona impeachment. so far, it’s been buffering. i’m not sure how PREGINET is holding the traffic.

fat chance! though i really wish i could do all those things. honestly! but only a real holy person would be able to do those things. and more so, the manifestation of stigmata!

i could never be that holy. i can try but i can almost say that even if i did, i’m bound to fail because i’m weak. knowledgeable in matters of faith, perhaps, but remain a weakling in practicing what needs to be practiced. ilusyonado lang talaga ako na magkakaroon ako ng ganito! still, it won’t hurt to try and try and try…

by the way, to those who aren’t familiar with what stigmata are, they are manifestations of the wounds of Christ when He was crucified on the cross. so far, i only know of St. Padre Pio who experienced the stigmata and (i think) were part of the cause for his canonization as a Saint in the Catholic Church.

my “stigma” is just a flesh would after scratching my foot too much. so much for feeling holy. i just lied. oh crap!

so far, this is best rainbow i have ever seen. and it was pretty long, as well! i just thought that it would’ve been the perfect gift from Him for A.

i used:

3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 medium red onion, chopped
2 stalks mustard leaves, chopped
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
2 medium tomatoes, seeded and peeled
1 skinless longganisa
1/2 broth cube dissolved in 2 cups of water
1 tbsp olive oil
sliced/shredded cheese
salt & pepper
italian seasoning
chili flakes
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp tomato paste
2/3 cup macaroni, uncooked

again, most of these are guestimates of how much i used. it’s better if you watch the video and guesstimate for your personal taste as well. i made an overhaul, actually, of the recipe substituting what i had in the refrigerator. so can you still call it minestrone? i don’t know! haha!

pancetta is now longganisa. celery is now mustasa. chicken broth is now beef broth cube dissolved. and since i didn’t think munggo would go well with this, i didn’t add them. kidney beans weren’t in sight in the house so i didn’t add em. no cabbage as well so i just threw in the mustasa leaves with the stalks. that’s a major overhaul of the recipe don’t you think? hehe… but it was nice to have this last night while the weather was cold. really flavorful and goes well with bread. i couldn’t afford something from French Baker so i used pandesal.

i’ll be away from work next week until dec. 2 for some technical workshop. i won’t be far from work, though. it’s still in quezon city but i won’t stay at the office. i’ll be training for some equipment and software that could help me in my work for possible future projects. masaya naman. staff development naman ito. it’s “another feather in my cap,” ‘ika nga.

pero bakit pa nga ba? i’ve been in my job for the past 6 years and i don’t think i’ve accomplished anything really note-worthy. the 6 years haven’t really been that productive for me. even after some training i’ve been to, the projects i handle remain the same. i try, believe me, i try to do my job as best i could but i don’t think it fits anymore. or maybe i don’t fit in here anymore.

maybe it’s like a marriage. you’re all in-love and excited and romantic at the beginning but after a while, you “get used to it” — being in eachother’s company, seeing him/her naked too many times already, eaten the same food too often, smelling his/her morning breath each and every time you wake up to go to work.

everything about the company — the name, the places, the people — everything is already demystified.

but it’s the same “person” you loved and promised to love. it’s the same institution that you oh-so-wanted to be in. but you can’t leave it, for some reason or another. emotional attachment? too comfortable to leave? economic uncertainty of employment? hay, ewan ko.

so, yeah. i think i’m married to my job.

well, at least my wife found it funny because she’s Tagalog. i, on the other hand, being used to the word “tete” (which means “bridge” in Kapampangan) really didn’t take notice of its subtle humor.
