i don’t and do understand. how did maricar reyes come back from the “extremely damaging” video that is Hayden’s doing? some points i have been thinking about the other days.

no, i’m not an entertainment writer in your favorite tabloid but an ordinary person who likes *chismis* and likes to think about these things.

we all know how the videos came about and how the very smart Senator bong revilla wanted to do this expose to make the victims come out. of course, there’s the senate hearing/investigation/waste of money and of course, the two opposing forces — Hayden and Katrina. in between all of this, there was the Brazilian model whose name i never got to know and never heard from ever and there’s maricar reyes.

maricar is, according to the profile given by ABS-CBN, a practicing doctor and that she and hayden were classmates and even dated. now, wouldn’t that have been so damaging, relating it to the videos? would this not have reduced her career to zero? i guess not. because from what i see on TV, she’s making all the right moves. or she has thought things over long before the scandals came out.

a thing or two that separates maricar from katrina. let’s admit it, katrina has a bad girl image and could constitute the “she deserves it” attitude of people while maricar keeps the good image (despite her being slightly “kontra-bida” in I <3 Betty La Fea) because she could be a victim and fit the stereotype well — how could a pervert like hayden to such a thing to a beautiful, innocent maricar? she played her cards well even by keeping quiet while katrina was fighting for her right as a woman. she was abused, after all.

additionally, 1.) she let katrina do all the hard work. she let katrina be the focus. it’s no use sharing the limelight specially if it speaks ill of you.

2.) ABS-CBN is taking good care of her. i just saw a commercial showing that she’s the next special guest on May Bukas Pa (often referred to as Santino, after the main protagonist’s name). doesn’t that bring a kind of redemption or absolution? lalo na’t papagalingin siya ni Santino at ni Bro… o diba?

i absolutely have no idea why i wrote this down. maybe i just wanted to make it leave my brain. it’s her face i always see. ok fine. i’m in love with her. lol…

nothing. absolutely nothing.

if you have it, then it must be a blessing from above. and you must be proud to have it and share it with others. being an intellectual is something good.

but to brag about it? foul, man…

we all know them… the hair (and the lack of it by one of them), the exaggerated and funny Jim Carrey faces during their performances, and the lip-synched renditions of classic and pop songs, moymoy palaboy has made a mark on the internet and entertainment arena on their own youtube channel. but one of their funniest performances to date was Volare! i was personally laughing my a$$ off with that one andgot me hooked with their antics… specially because this is where they got their mom to dance in the background while making the video!

and as a follow-up to their Spanish/Latin beat hit, they opted to sing Chorizo Burrito. equally funny on its own…

…but funnier after learning what the lyrics mean! hahaha…

wonderfully intricate, right? this once belonged and was used by my grandfather when he was still alive. i don’t have any memories of him because he was gone even before i entered this world. i was still in my mother’s womb when he died. so i guess i have memories but really vague and those that go deep into the parts of the brain we still do not know. i’m imagining this might be one of the reasons why i could have smiled or laughed as a little baby — with no actual experience to laugh or dream about.

if you’re not familiar with it, the object above is a chinrest for a violin. etched on the underside is “Repair by V.M. Basilio 12/18/37″ with my grandfather’s signature on the edge.

yes, he played violin. and from what i hear from our neighbors and church-goers, those who knew him,  he was quite popular violinist in his time in our town. now those are big shoes to fill.

it seems that this is my inheritance from him. i guess i will never know how well he played, if he took formal lessons, or who his teacher was. how was his posture? his playing? but his love for music now runs through me. and playing the violin is just part of it. He never left me after all. May ipina-mana pa din siya sa akin – just as a good father would not leave his son without anything.

na-greet ko na si tatay nung weekend. ikaw naman ngayon. belated happy father’s day, lolo Felix.

that’s the way it should be… Operative word is ’should’.

Wishing, hoping, praying things will be better.

just arrived sa office. lunch time na. nag-enroll pa kasi ako. actually, i was just going to check if i as elligible to enroll this sem. miraculously enough, i was! so i decided to go through with my enrollment kahit walang paalam sa opis. “saka na lang ako magpapaliwanag. bahala na si batman,” ‘ka ko.

ngayon, payment na lang kulang. i’ll probably do that next week para konti ang pila. and ngayon nga, dahil sa mabait akong empleyado, magba-blog muna ako! haha…

well, dahil nga (again. ang kulet! oo na! lunch na nga!) lunch time na halos, nag McDo na lang ako kasi nahihiya din naman ako… working lunch na lang muna. ayoko muna mag Chicken at rice kaya nag BigMac ako, with certain reservations.

i used to love the Big Mac when it was, well, BIG. as in you could hardly put it in your mouth and use up a roll of tissue for wiping every part of your face because of the mess you’ll be making trying to eat it! and then after a while, it just got smaller and smaller (to me, at least) and parang di na siya nakakatuwang kainin. i used to say na “if you don’t soil your clothes or any part of your body while eating a Big Mac, it’s not a Big Mac.” and so, i gave up ordering and eating this for a while because it wasn’t the same anymore. the experience was forgettable… until today!

it’s confirmed, ladies and gentlemen, the Big Mac is back! and even if i soil my keyboard in the office, i don’t care right now. i can always wipe and clean it. but enjoying the return of this burger is just… *sigh*

you can tell, i’m satisfied right?.

Just sharing my happiness with my new phone! too many reviews have been written about the Nokia E63 and i guess it wouldn’t be much help if i write another one. but let me just say that I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!

it’s got everything that i should need! plus, it’s tweakable so if i need something that’s not on the phone yet, i can add it! and there’s even an online community/wikispace of users! weee!!!

only down side i can think of, so far, is that it’s 3G. yes, that’s a minus for the phone. because you can surf practically anywhere! and that’s BAD for my phone bill!!! hahaha… but still, it’s a pretty pretty phone. did i already say that i love this phone so much? oh yeah… i did. doesn’t hurt mentioning it just one more time right?

everyone has a refuge.

some go to food for comfort. some, to their bedrooms or places they feel ‘at home’. others into the arms of someone — a friend, a loved one, relative, and others still, run to their faith for their moments of despair, sorrow, emptiness, and feeling lost.

but if you have no preference for any of those mentioned above, where do you go, then? do you force yourself to be happy? is that even possible? sometimes, i guess, it’s the fear of exposing ourselves that holds us back into running to someone/something. you feel naked — vulnerable.

so maybe, for one such as myself who cannot find someone or something to go to, releasing everything and shouting it out to the universe could be my last resort. by being carefree i might find comfort. hopefully.

received this as a wedding souvenir/giveaway from a college friend. november pa sila kinasal (if i remember right) and then namulaklak na siya nung una pero i forgot to take a pic. ngayon, di ko na pinalampas. so pretty!
