Thor Productions, why did you have to break our hearts? :(

perfect na eh. perfect na sana. pero wala pa ding nangyayari…

if you remember, i posted something very personal on this blog and it was somehow a review of our videographer, thorProductions. i really had a good feeling about them and we trusted them immensely. but i’m afraid that it’s fading away slowly everyday.

we got married over 9 months ago and were happy about the delivery of our on-site video when they sent it just after a month. actually, A and I thought that the DVD sent to us was the final DVD of the whole event. it was actually the same on-site video I downloaded from their vimeo account. i was impressed na sana kasi i thought ambilis nila mag-produce ng output! up to this day, we haven’t received the DVD of the coverage of our wedding.

what’s so disappointing actually isn’t the waiting. pwede naman kaming mag-hintay. ang ayaw ko lang ay yung pinapa-asa ka nila. they say they’ll deliver the final product by the end of December. January comes and they say end of February. March comes and goes, wala pa din. in 5 days, May na. wala pa din kaming natatanggap or update man lang. actually, i emailed them using our old thread during our negotiations with Thor and Carmela and their new email address eventsbythor@gmail.com pero hanggang ngayon, walang reply.

here’s what i wrote them:

Hi Thor and Carmella!

We were just wondering how long would it take for the final video be
finished realistically speaking? Last time kasi Angel asked through
text, i think you promised na end of March made-deliver na and she and
I are getting a little disappointed kasi nade-delay nang nade-delay
yung sinasabing “ok na by _____” and then we don’t receive anything
and we don’t get any notification from you na hindi pa din pala kaya
that time.

I know you are pretty busy with bookings din. Been seeing your uber
daming posts sa kids parties on your thorproductionkids site and
sunod-sunod pa! I’m glad you’re getting a lot of bookings and meeting
wonderful people who entrust to you capturing important events in
their lives. We are very happy about the SDE you delivered about 8
months ago. Madaming natuwa and a whole lot of them were praises for
your coverage and your team. I know we would be happier if we could
also share with them yung final video of our wedding day na gawa ninyo
din.

Maybe we could just ask for a realistic delivery date? I understand
it’s not meant to be rushed pero just give us a realistic time frame
na maghintay and we will wait for the final video. It just doesn’t
feel nice kasi na everytime we ask and you give a date ay nag-e-expect
kami because you said it will be finished ng ganitong day or week and
then we are left disappointed.

in forums and other blog posts, i still see that a lot of people recommend them because they produce great videos. and they do! they really do. they’re really nice and polite and accommodating during our event, told us that everything is OK and hindi na namin sila kinailangang intindihin. we had no worries about them and for that i am grateful. pero sana, ituloy-tuloy nila yung excellent service nila even after the event. hindi gaya ngayon na wala kaming kasiguruhan kailan namin makukuha yung video coverage ng kasal namin. (although i’m not really hopeful na kapag sinabi nilang sa July eh made-deliver nga ng July. hay…  )

hindi lang din pala kami ang may ganitong situation. actually, i got the blog title from the thread title of this forum. it really saddens me na ganito din nangyayari sa kanila. nade-delay ang video dahil mukhang overbooked na sila.

now that i think about it, i really should’ve made a review of FocalPoint Photography before pa ng sa thorProductions. i had waaaay better experience with Chris, Joseph, Nes, and the rest of them after the wedding. results were pretty much on-time. they updated A (who updated me) about the wedding album, yung picture sa window ng album, the color, etc. and the DVD copy of pictures. mas walang hassle sa kanila and we didn’t have to text them. they texted us!

maybe thorProductions and thorProduction kids would take a leaf out of FocalPoint Photography’s book. sayang nga na FocalPoint recommended them and yet they have different practices regarding customer relations. so perhaps if you’re planning to get thor Productions or thorProductionKids for your kid’s party, or any event, i’m sure you’ll feel right at home and comfortable with them until the day of the event. pero i guess you’ll just have to prepare yourself din for the disappointment that follows after that.
